June 2025 Updates

Share

Assalaamu-alaykum Yasar,

It’s been a packed few weeks, from events and training to visits across the UK, youth work is in full swing.

In this update:
🔹 What we’ve been up to
🔹 New training dates
🔹 And how you can get involved

💼 Youth Engagement in Action

Over the past two months, we’ve been on the ground with Youth Hubbs across the country. Here’s a snapshot:

In May:
  • 5 site visits to our partner youth hubbs across London, Luton, Maidstone and Birmingham
  • 2 training sessions launching our latest cycle with British Muslim Heritage Centre and Essentials Education Group
In June:
  • 4 more site visits in London, Birmingham, Luton and Manchester
  • 3 training sessions with the youth teams from Become United, Yuvanis Foundation and EMCA Al-Nagashi Mosque

Hubbs showed dedication, energy, and real momentum in growing their youth work. There’s so much to be hopeful about. The quality of work, the commitment of volunteers, and the vision hubbs have for the future left us deeply inspired. These hubbs aren’t just following the standard, they’re shaping it.

🌙 Reflections & Reminders

Ḍhul-Ḥijjah Reflections

The start of June coincided with the sacred days of Ḍhul-Ḥijjah. Thank you to everyone who supported our work during this blessed period, your generosity fuels our mission.

A special Ḥajj Mubarak to those of you who performed Ḥajj this year. May Allah accept from you and from all the Muslims around the world.

Fasting on Ashura

The Day of Ashura is expected later this week on Saturday 5th July (10th Muharram) — a powerful moment in the Islamic calendar.

The Prophet ﷺ said: “Fasting the day of Ashura, I hope Allah will expiate thereby for the year that came before it.” (Sahih Muslim)

Many of us will be fasting — we invite you to join too.

It is recommended to fast the 9th or 11th of Muharram alongside the 10th.

✋ Get Involved

We’re looking for passionate volunteers to help with events, fundraising, social media, and more — whether you’re a people person, planner, or behind-the-scenes pro, there’s a role for you at Here for Youth. Get involved here

Last few points:

  • Quick Quote from the Quran & Sunnah – “Verily, Allah will not change the condition of a people until they change what is in themselves.” – Surah Ar-Ra’d (13:11) – This verse reminds us that growth begins with intention and effort. When we invest in young people, train leaders, and create welcoming spaces, we’re living this ayah in action.
