Job Summary: Here For Youth is seeking a dedicated and experienced Financial Controller to oversee our financial management and reporting processes. This part-time position (2 days a month) offers a unique opportunity to make a meaningful impact by ensuring the financial sustainability of our charity. The Financial Controller will play a critical role in maintaining financial transparency, compliance, and accountability while supporting our mission to serve the youth.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Financial Management:

    • Oversee and manage all financial aspects of Here For Youth, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning.
    • Ensure the charity operates within budgetary guidelines and achieves financial sustainability.
  2. Financial Reporting:

    • Prepare and present timely and accurate financial reports to the Board of Trustees and senior management.
    • Maintain comprehensive financial records and statements, ensuring compliance with regulatory and accounting standards.
  3. Audit and Compliance:

    • Collaborate with external auditors to facilitate annual financial audits.
    • Ensure compliance with relevant charity and financial regulations, making recommendations for process improvements as needed.
  4. Cash Flow Management:

    • Monitor and manage cash flow, optimizing the use of funds for charitable activities and programs.
    • Assist in the development of financial policies and procedures to safeguard the organization's financial health.
  5. Grant and Funding Management:

    • Manage and track grants and donations, ensuring that funds are allocated and utilized in accordance with donor agreements.
    • Assist in the preparation of grant proposals and financial reports for funders.
  6. Financial Strategy:

    • Provide strategic financial guidance to the leadership team, helping to shape the organization's future goals and initiatives.
    • Identify opportunities for cost savings and revenue generation.
  7. Hybrid Working:

    • Work two days a month, including at our physical office location in central London. (hybrid working model).

Qualifications:

  • A recognized accounting qualification (e.g., ACCA, CIMA, CPA) or relevant financial degree.
  • Proven experience in financial management and control, preferably in the non-profit sector.
  • Knowledge of charity accounting and financial regulations.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in financial software and Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.

Role Overview:
As a General Fundraiser, you will play a key role in driving our fundraising efforts, both online and in-person. You’ll help plan and execute fundraising campaigns, engage with donors, and work with partners to maximise our impact. Whether you’re passionate about organising events, securing funding, or inspiring generosity, this role offers a rewarding opportunity to contribute to meaningful change.

Key Responsibilities:
✅ Fundraising Campaigns: Assist in planning and arranging online and in-person fundraising campaigns, ensuring they are engaging and impactful.
✅ Research & Grant Applications: Identify funding and grant opportunities, then support the writing of applications to secure financial support.
✅ Community Engagement: Work with local businesses, Masjids, and community centres to arrange fundraising partnerships.
✅ Scheduling Collections & Events: Plan and coordinate collections at key locations and organise community fundraising events with partners.
✅ Direct Debit Sign-Ups: Promote recurring donations to ensure long-term sustainability for our programmes.
✅ Attending Fundraising Events & Training: Participate in fundraising-related events, training courses, and networking opportunities to enhance your skills.
✅ Event Support: Assist at fundraising events, dinners, charity treks, and other events to encourage donations and donor engagement.
✅ Marketing & Outreach: Help with social media promotions, email campaigns, and other digital efforts to amplify fundraising efforts.

Role Overview: 

As a Masjid Fundraiser, you will play a vital role in engaging with the community and securing donations to support our cause. You’ll serve as a representative of the charity within local masjids, inspiring generosity and ensuring that our fundraising efforts run smoothly. 

Key Responsibilities: 

Attending Collections: Attend key masjid collections to encourage donations and discuss our cause. 
Engaging with the Community: Confidently speak to masjid attendees about the impact of their donations and how they aid young people. 
Encouraging Sign-Ups: Promote direct debit donations and recurring giving to ensure long-term support. 
Distributing Materials: Distribute flyers, brochures, and other resources to educate the community on our initiatives. 
Supporting Events: Assist with fundraising appeals during Jummah, Isha, and Taraweeh, ensuring donation stations are well-managed. 
Managing Donation Points: Oversee charity buckets, card donation machines, and donation cards handed in.

As a Partner Amplifier, you will be responsible for tracking the activities and engagement of our partner hubs. Your role will involve monitoring their social media, websites, and other public communications to keep our team informed about their latest initiatives, events, and updates. This information will help us maintain strong relationships, identify areas for collaboration, and ensure we stay up to date with their progress.

Key Responsibilities:

Monitoring Partner Activities: Regularly check the social media pages, websites, and newsletters of partners to stay updated on their initiatives.
Tracking Announcements & Events: Document and report on key events, programs, and activities organized by partner hubs.
Data Collection & Reporting: Organise and present insights in reports to keep the internal team informed on community trends and developments.
Social Media Management: Share key updates internally with relevant teams and via social media to help improve coordination and collaboration with partner hubs.

Role Overview:

As an Operations Coordinator, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the success of our fundraising events and community events. You’ll be responsible for the logistical planning and execution of events, ensuring everything runs smoothly—from transportation and catering to safeguarding and volunteer coordination. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys organisation, problem-solving, and making a real difference behind the scenes.

Key Responsibilities:

Event Logistics: Arrange transport, food, and supplies for events such as workshops,  charity treks, Masjid collections, and community fundraising events.
Volunteer Coordination: Assist in organising and supporting volunteers, ensuring they have the necessary resources and information.
Safeguarding & Compliance: Support safeguarding checks to ensure all events meet safety and regulatory requirements.
Venue & Partner Coordination: Work with Masjids, community centres, and event spaces to secure venues and coordinate event logistics.
Scheduling & Planning: Develop detailed event schedules to ensure smooth execution and avoid last-minute issues.
Risk Assessment & Problem-Solving: Identify potential challenges ahead of time and implement solutions to mitigate any disruptions.

You’ll play a key role in ensuring smooth coordination, promoting fundraising efforts, and capturing impactful stories from our events. This is a great role for someone with strong people skills who enjoys engaging with communities and spreading awareness.

Key Responsibilities:

Masjid Ambassador: Act as a liaison between Masjids and fundraising teams, ensuring clear communication and coordination.
Fundraising Target Monitoring: Work with local teams to track fundraising progress and encourage efforts to meet goals.
Internal Communication: Coordinate with the HFY team to provide updates on events, fundraising efforts, and community engagement.
Media & Testimonials: Capture impactful photos, videos, and testimonials from events to be used in marketing and social media campaigns.
Social Media Support: Share event updates, fundraising progress, and inspiring stories to help amplify our message.

Role Overview:

As a First Aid Volunteer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the health and safety of participants at our events, such as charity treks, masjid collections, and community events. Your presence will provide reassurance and immediate care if needed, helping us create a safe environment for everyone involved.

Key Responsibilities:

Event Safety: Be on-site at events to provide immediate first aid support if required.
Emergency Response: Provide assistance in case of minor injuries, dehydration, or other health concerns.
Risk Assessment: Help identify potential hazards and work with the operations team to minimise risks.
Safeguarding Support: Work alongside event coordinators to ensure participant safety, particularly for vulnerable individuals.
Incident Reporting: Document any incidents and report them to the event coordinator for proper follow-up.

At Here For Youth, we are unlocking the potential of Mosques to become safe and loving spaces that teenagers can access in their local area. 

Job Description:

The Community Engagement Officer will support our Youth Engagement Team in implementing our Youth Engagement Framework (YEF) by providing assistance, coordinating logistics, and engaging with our partners throughout their participation in our training, coaching, and accreditation programme. They will document each phase using our reporting framework. The YEF involves evaluating each space delivering appropriate training and coaching to establish weekly youth hubs for local teenagers.

Responsibilities:

  • Assess a partner’s current level of engagement with teenagers in their local area
  • Assess the local area conditions that the partner is operating in
  • Carry out site visits to assess partners against our YEF
  • Complete reports for the partner after each stage in the YEF
  • Support partner to implement recommendations highlighted in the report
  • Manage the creative/operations team to confirm the logistics and marketing of training and coaching
  • Direct partners to relevant resources to set up and launch their weekly sessions
  • Create resources for partners as and when required
  • Schedule collections and community events with partners
  • Organise joint events for community partners
  • Other responsibilities and duties commensurate with the role

Qualifications (E - Essential, D - Desirable):

  • Have a minimum of two years of experience in engaging teenagers directly. (E)

Voluntary Role: 16-20 hours a week (Travel/Expenses)

Availability: Weekly check-in meetings with their manager

Job Overview:

The successful candidate will deliver the operational support needed across the organisation, with a focus on implementing our Youth Engagement Framework (YEF) for individuals who have influence over a space (such as a Mosque or community centre) that can be easily accessed by teenagers. 

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Youth Engagement
      1. Pre-Training & Training
        • Review applicants and initiate research 
        • Create applicant records on the project management system
        • Arrange and deliver introductory welcome calls 
        • Work with the creative/events team for promotional materials and registration
        • Communicate the training and coaching plan 
        • Ensure the trainer is confirmed and any logistics (hotel/transportation) arranged
        • Maintain communication up until the training is delivered.
      2. Coaching
        • Invite to weekly online coaching sessions
        • Arrange a site visit for the training team during the coaching period
      3. Accreditation
        • Arrange the accreditation session for the training team
      4. Handover
        • Handover to the ongoing engagement team
  • Fundraising
      1. Plan and arrange online and in-person fundraising campaigns 
      2. Research funding and grant opportunities and write-up applications
      3. Schedule collections and community events with partners.
      4. Attend fundraising-related events/training courses
  • HR
      1. Recruitment, training and onboarding of new Operations Assistants
      2. Managing a team of staff and volunteers

Job Overview:

The successful candidate will train individuals/partners on our Youth Engagement Framework (YEF).  The framework includes assessing each space, then delivering relevant training and coaching to get them running a weekly youth hub for local teenagers.

  1. Assess an individual/partner’s current engagement with teenagers in their local area
  2. Assess the local area conditions that the individual/partners are operating in

  11. Accredit the individual/partners Youth Hubb (or other weekly youth engagement session) against the requirements outlined in our YEF
  12. Review individual/partners' Youth Hubb (or other) accreditation after 12 months via a follow-up assessment

Job Overview:

The Social Media Assistant will develop and implement the organisation’s social media strategies. They will also help manage social media platforms and implement online marketing campaigns.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Design a social media strategy that aligns with the brand identity, the organisation’s audience, and goals
  • Generate, edit, publish and share daily content that builds meaningful connections and encourages community members to take action
  • Help manage and optimise organisation pages within each platform to increase the visibility of the organisation’s social content
  • Continuously improve by capturing and analysing the appropriate social data/metrics, insights and best practices and then acting on the information
  • Helping to manage and implement online marketing campaigns on platforms including Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn, YouTube and Google AdWords

  • Assist in video shoots for various productions
  • Ensure successful project completion while managing a personal portfolio of video projects
  • Collaborate with the team on conceptualizing new promotional materials, and assist in scripting and storyboarding when necessary
  • Work closely with the team and line manager to achieve positive and timely outcomes
  • Communicate updates to the line manager as required
  • Maintain a high level of professionalism, confidentiality, and respect at all times
  • Participate in meetings and work cooperatively with colleagues, valuing and incorporating their input and suggestions
