We’re looking for dedicated volunteers to support our initiatives. Whether you want to be on the ground fundraising, helping at events, or supporting behind the scenes, there’s a role for you!
Volunteer Events & Operations Assistant (Awards & Training)
Support the smooth delivery of our awards ceremonies and in-person training sessions. From managing registration to coordinating logistics on the day, you’ll play a key role in creating successful, impactful events.
Key Responsibilities:
✔️ Registration & Guest Support: Welcome attendees, manage check-ins, and prepare materials like name badges and sign-in sheets.
✔️ On-the-Day Coordination: Assist with event setup, timekeeping, and troubleshooting. Ensure everything runs to plan.
✔️ Logistics & Planning: Help organise venues, catering, tech setup, and supplies. Support with timelines and task lists.
✔️ Volunteer & Partner Support: Brief volunteers and liaise with venues, trainers, and suppliers as needed.
✔️ Safety & Accessibility: Support safeguarding procedures and help create inclusive, welcoming spaces.
You’re a great fit if you’re: Organised, reliable, people-focused, and enjoy making events run smoothly behind the scenes.
Part-Time Volunteer HR Lead
Be the calm in the storm, the organiser of chaos, and the friendly face people turn to when “something HR-ish” comes up. You’ll keep our team happy, supported, and still talking to each other — all while making a difference for Muslim youth.
Key Responsibilities:
✔️ HR Systems & Policies: Keep everything running smoother than a fresh jar of honey. From holidays to handovers, make sure processes actually make sense.
✔️ Team Support: Be the go-to for HR questions, big, small, or slightly dramatic. Offer calm advice (and maybe the occasional meme).
✔️ Wellbeing & Culture: Help us stay motivated, supported, and smiling. Spot problems before they become “problems.”
✔️ Efficiency & Organisation: Streamline systems so we work smarter, not harder — because efficiency is beautiful.
✔️ People Management: Bring diplomacy, patience, and maybe ninja-level problem-solving when things get… interesting.
You’re a great fit if you’re: Experienced in HR, confident taking ownership, organised, and passionate about Muslim youth work. You know when to be serious, and when to lighten the mood with a perfectly-timed gif.
The Practical Bits:
- Commitment: 1–2 days per week (flexible)
- Location: Remote, with occasional in-person meetups
- Pay: Volunteer role — but travel, lunch, and snacks are always covered
- Perks: Gratitude, purpose, and a seat at the table where change happens
Volunteer Community Engagement Officer
(Hybrid, London – extensive travel required)
Help bring our Youth Engagement Framework (YEF) to life by supporting partners, coordinating logistics, and making sure local youth hubs for teenagers thrive. You’ll be on the ground, building relationships, documenting progress, and ensuring partners have everything they need to succeed.
Key Responsibilities:
✔️ Partner Assessments: Visit and assess partners’ youth engagement levels and local area conditions, using our YEF as the guide.
✔️ Reporting & Recommendations: Document each stage clearly, complete reports, and support partners to put recommendations into action.
✔️ Training & Coaching Support: Manage logistics, resources, and comms to make sure training and coaching sessions run smoothly.
✔️ Resource Creation: Direct partners to existing materials — and create new resources when needed to support their youth work.
✔️ Events & Community Activities: Schedule collections, organise joint community events, and bring partners together to make an impact.
✔️ Collaboration & Coordination: Work with our creative/operations team to confirm logistics, marketing, and timelines.
You’re a great fit if you’re: Experienced in youth engagement (at least 2 years), confident communicating, and a natural problem-solver. You enjoy working in a team, are comfortable travelling across London, and can keep reports, policies, and systems neat and organised.
The Practical Bits:
- Location: Hybrid, London – with lots of travel to partner sites
- Driving: A full, valid UK driving licence is essential
- Tech: Comfortable with Google Suite (bonus points if you know Asana)
- Experience: Understanding of reporting, documentation, and policy implementation is a plus
