we make youth work simple.

Here For Youth helps masjids and community organisations across the UK run youth provision that teenagers actually want to be part of. Our mission is to make youth engagement local, simple and effective.

Communities don't lack commitment. They lack support. 760+ youth centres have closed since 2012, leaving many young people without safe, local spaces, while masjids and community groups want to help but often don't know where to start.

We've been delivering open youth work sessions in hundreds of communities across the UK since 2011. Since 2022 we've focused on training, coaching and accrediting local organisations through our Youth Engagement Framework, so great youth work can happen everywhere, not by accident.

2010 – 2020 · a decade of Nitemania

where we started.

For a decade, we ran Nitemania: youth nights in masjids up and down the country. Games on the prayer carpet, pizza on the floor, and circles that carried on long past midnight.

We'd arrive, run the night, and move on to the next town.

6 March 2020 was our last Nitemania. Seventeen days later, the country locked down, and it gave us time to ask a hard question: when the night ends, who is there for those teenagers the rest of the week?

One night reaches the young people in the room. A trained youth worker in every masjid reaches them every week. It's teaching someone to fish rather than handing them one, so we stopped running the nights ourselves and started training communities to run their own.
