A Moment Worth Being Late For… 📊 The ‘Muslim Youth Futures Report’ Launch

On Tuesday night, we witnessed a landmark moment for young British Muslims, the launch of the Muslim Youth Futures: Our Voice, Our Vision, Shaping Our Society report.

A room full of leaders, thinkers, youth workers, activists, policy influencers and, most importantly, young people themselves, came together in Westminster to rewrite what the future can look like.

Young Muslims are not the problem, they’re the potential.” – from the Muslim Youth Futures Report

Across the sector, the response has been overwhelming with people calling it powerful,” “much-needed,” “eye-opening,” “a turning point,” and even one of the most energising policy launches this year.”

The message is clear:

Young British Muslims are ready to shape a better Britain.

This report isn’t just a publication, it’s the start of the collective follow-up work that now begins.

And you’re invited to be part of that next chapter inshaAllah!

🛡️ DSL & Contextual Safeguarding Training

Last month we ran three DSL workshops in London (2 sessions) and Birmingham (1 session).

Across these sessions we trained 12 partner organisations in contextual safeguarding helping leaders look beyond surface-level concerns and understand the wider social, political, and environmental risks affecting young Muslims today.

Leaders shared feedback about the depth and relevance of this training, such as:

“I enjoyed the training and it was all organised well, and well delivered. Thank you to Hamza and you all who organised this. It’s vital for the muslim community.”

“The training was honestly so useful and genuinely made me think rather than just take in lots of information. I really appreciate brother Hamza’s approach to the trainings and coaching sessions.”

“I found the DSL training really insightful. The regulations covered were all relevant, and it was very useful to link them to real cases where safeguarding had failed. The session was engaging and interactive, and I definitely picked up some valuable pointers.”

📚 Training & Coaching

We wrapped up our September–October training cycle with two final in-person How to Effectively Engage Teenagers (EET) sessions delivered in Stoke and Nottingham.

Alongside this we launched our 6-week coaching cycle, supporting partners to embed the learning into their hubs. By the end of October, 4 out of 6 coaching sessions were successfully delivered.

📍 Site Visits

Finally, we also carried out two site visits across the Midlands to support hubb’s with:

  • Observing youth sessions
  • Reviewing structures
  • Strengthening safeguarding
  • Offering tailored advice to boost youth engagement

These visits continue to help hubb’s build stronger, safer and more youth-led environments.

On Monday 13th October, our article How Mosques Can Shape and Develop a Generation written by our very own, Muneeb Kayani, was published by the Muslim Charities Forum and launched at the House of Commons.

It showcased our approach to youth work and highlighted why mosques remain one of the most important spaces for nurturing confident, grounded Muslim teenagers in Britain.

Last few points:

  • Quick Quote from the Quran & Sunnah – “So by mercy from Allah, you were gentle with them.” – (Surah At-Tawbah 9:120) ➡️ A reminder that gentleness is not a weakness — it’s prophetic leadership. Every time you show patience with a young person, every moment you choose softness over frustration, you’re practising a Sunnah that transforms hearts.
