Assalaamu-alaykum,

August may have been a holiday month for many, but for us it’s been about building momentum behind the scenes.

From welcoming new partners and wrapping up our coaching cycle, to preparing major launches in the months ahead, there’s plenty to share.

Here’s a quick look at what’s been happening 👇

🎓 Coaching Programme Wrap-Up

Our six-week online coaching cycle came to an end in early August. Each week covered a different area of youth hub development, including:

  • Measuring impact – understanding how to capture and evidence change.
  • Marketing your youth hub – sharing your story and reaching your community.
  • Youth leadership & empowerment – supporting young people to take ownership.
  • Theory of change – using it to strengthen funding and grant applications.
  • Thought-provoking discussions – creating spaces for deeper conversations with young people.
  • Safeguarding – from both statutory and Islamic frameworks.

The feedback has been clear: the sessions were
resourceful, practical, and well-received. Many hubs have already started to apply what they learned in real time.

Even though the cycle has ended, we remain available for follow-up advice, mentoring, or one-to-one guidance. Hubs that took part are encouraged to reach out if they’d like more tailored support.

👉 Looking ahead: our next coaching cycle will run in January 2026, with only four slots available. If your organisation would like to take part, please get in touch.

🌱 Welcoming New Partners

We’ve held around six welcome calls this month with mosques and community organisations in London, Crawley, and the Midlands.

It’s particularly encouraging to see mosques that have not previously been involved in youth work now showing a genuine desire to invest in their young people. For some, this is their very first step into youth engagement, while for others it’s about strengthening and formalising the work they’re already doing.

These calls mark the start of the onboarding journey – where new hubs learn about our training, coaching, and safeguarding programmes, and begin building their capacity to serve young people effectively.

🏡 Site Visits in the Midlands

This month we carried out two site visits in the Midlands. A key highlight has been witnessing multi-generational involvement: not just youth workers, but also parents, aunties, and uncles stepping in to support and encourage young people.

This collective approach is a strong sign that youth engagement is becoming a shared responsibility within communities. By embedding youth work across families and community leaders, these hubs are laying the foundations for sustainable, long-term impact.

🛡️ DSL Training Coming Soon

We’re preparing to deliver our next Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) Training in October. This essential training will be open to all our partner hubs, ensuring that every organisation has the right skills and knowledge in place to keep young people safe.

The training builds on our safeguarding framework, combining statutory requirements with an Islamic perspective on child protection and welfare.

It’s an opportunity for hubs to strengthen their safeguarding policies, develop confidence in handling concerns, and make sure their youth spaces are both safe and welcoming.

👉 Keep an eye out for the official invite and registration link in the coming weeks inshaAllah.

📖 Muslim Youth Futures Report

We are excited to share that our CEO, Ayub Seedat, has been finalising the Muslim Youth Futures Report: Our Voice, Our Vision, Shaping Our Society, produced in collaboration with Goldsmiths University.

This landmark research captures the hopes, aspirations, and concerns of Gen Z Muslims in the UK – exploring education, employment, identity, faith, and civic participation. It asks big questions:

  • How do Muslim young people navigate the transition from childhood to adulthood?
  • Where are the safe spaces for them – both faith-based and secular?
  • What role can youth work play in shaping their future?

The report not only presents research findings but also highlights the vital role of a revitalised Muslim youth work sector. It is scheduled to launch in September 2025 – a moment we hope will spark important conversations across the sector.

After the success of the last two years, we’re aiming to make this year’s ceremony bigger, better, and even more inspiring. To do that, we’re looking to partner with organisations who share our commitment to uplifting the next generation.
